WHO WE ARE

We are a group of different Evangelical churches and ministries in Greece working together to help the refugees coming into Greece, caring for their physical needs and sharing the love of Jesus in everything we do.

WHAT WE DO

One of our priorities is to fill the practical needs among the refugees as well as their spiritual needs by building relationships with them and providing Bibles and other materials in their native language so they can learn about Jesus and His love for them.

VOLUNTEER

Is God calling you to come or give? We need both! We would love to hear from you and look for ways to partner together. Come be a part of what God is doing among those who could not hear of His love until now!

FIND OUT MORE

As far as you’re concerned, we’re homeless, shiftless wanderers like our ancestors,
our lives mere shadows, hardly anything to us.

Deut. 10:19 & 1 Chronicles 29:15 (MSG)

WHO WE ARE

In early September 2015, churches and ministries came together to find ways to cooperate in their efforts to reach out to the refugees that were pouring into Greece. As a result, the “Alliance Relief” was born and serves as an umbrella for the Evangelical community, both in Greece and and abroad, who want to love on the refugees in word and action with the love of Jesus Christ.

BELOW ARE SOME OF OUR PARTNERS

WHAT WE DO
Island Relief Ministry

Under the leadership of Hellenic Ministries, various teams are helping with first response in the areas of Molyvos and Mytilene, providing dry clothes, food, rest and comfort for the 500-2000 refugees who arrive off the rafts each day. In addition to first response, teams are working alongside other NGO’s and government leaders at the registration camps (“Hot Spots”), cleaning, serving, and helping with coordination. The minimum time to volunteer with EuroRelief is two weeks. If you are interested in learning more,

Alliance Relief Refugee Care Center

12 hours a day/6 days a week, the Care Center provides a safe and Christian-staffed place for refugees to come and be loved. We provide light snacks and coffee/tea, learn Greek or English, free Internet access, child care, laundry facilities/showers, seminars and lots of love! Our greatest desire and prayer is to see many of them to come into relationship with Jesus Christ and become His disciples.

Women and Children

In cooperation with a local Greek Evangelical Church, the organization “Faros,” provides a drop-in center for women and children only near one of the main outside gathering spots for refugees. They provide a safe environment for the women to talk to other women, the children to play, laundry and toilet facilities, refreshments and medical attention.

Feeding

Several organizations and churches are providing home cooked food, water, coffee and tea to refugees each week. While some invite refugees into their facility, others take it to them in the streets and parks.

Clothing and Hygiene Sorting

Many businesses, churches, organizations, communities and individuals have donated various clothing and hygiene items for the refugees. Under the leadership of the Salvation Army in Athens, clothes and hygiene items are stored and sorted at their 1000m2 facility and available for all ministries and organizations to use for refugees.

Housing and Shelter

Several of our partners provide housing for the refugees at their ministry centers. Most are for just a few days, but others are more long term. We are currently looking at how to prepare for the potentially great need for housing in the future months.

Medical and Dental

Doctors, nurses and dentists from around the world have come to Greece to join Greek doctors and dentists provide free medical and dental care to the refugees. If you or someone you know may be interested in helping, please contact us.

Serving Refugees in Northern Greece

Since August 2015 the evangelical community of northern Greece has been present at least once every week serving thousands of refugees with food, clothing, medicine and many other materials in the area of Eidomeni next to the boarders.
From the first day there is a huge number of volunteers who offer their services sacrificially serving people, providing for them free internet and the opportunity to charge their mobile phones.
Special care has been given to mothers with little children and people with special needs…All the churches have been mobilized united with the common goal to serve people in the name of Christ regardless religion, color, race or ethnic background.
